Dr. LOra BLEDSOE

Dr. Bledsoe first came to Colorado to study animal science at Colorado State University and stayed on at CSU to attend veterinary school. Completing her doctorate in 2013, Dr. Bledsoe was also recognized for her excellence in small ruminant medicine. After graduating, Dr. Bledsoe took a position as a mixed-animal practitioner in Strasburg, CO. Although she enjoyed her time in Strasburg, Dr. Bledsoe made the move out to the Eastern Plains in 2014, to be closer to her husband, James.

Continuing her work as a mixed animal practitioner in Limon, Dr. Bledsoe was able to develop meaningful relationships with many local producers. It is here where she realized her passion for working exclusively with commercial livestock producers. She enjoys the challenge of setting up effective, customized herd health plans that increase production and efficiency for each operation. She continues to love the adventure of caring for her 85,000+ livestock patients who are spread over 7,300 sq. miles on the Eastern Plains of Colorado.

Dr. Bledsoe enjoys being involved in the local community and serves as the Mayor of Hugo, CO, is a Past President of Lincoln County Cattlewomen, an active member of Lincoln County Stockgrowers and sits on the Board of Directors for the Hugo Fire Protection District. Dr. Bledsoe also serves as an appointed member of the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association Commission on Advocacy and Outreach.

When not on the road, Dr. Bledsoe can be found helping out her husband on the family’s Red Angus cow/calf and farming operations. The Bledsoe Family are long-time Lincoln County residents and celebrated the ranch’s 100 year anniversary in 2018. In addition to their livestock, Dr. Bledsoe and her husband raise working Australian Shepherds.
